Work Schedule

8-hour shifts, 32-40 hours per week; weekend and evening availability required. This is scheduled shift work, not on-call standby duty.

About the Role

Valley Veterinary Services is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician who's excited to make a real difference in a small-animal practice that's been caring for the Chilliwack community since 1994. Your day-to-day work will be varied and meaningful: you'll assist with diagnostics and surgery, educate clients, build strong relationships with pet owners, and support the veterinarians in delivering excellent medical care. Schedule includes 8-hour shifts across a 32–40 hour work week, with weekend and evening availability required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and patient care
  • Educate clients about pet health and treatment options
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members through excellent communication
  • Work independently and collaboratively as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Support community initiatives and fundraising efforts
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

Requirements

  • AHT/RVT Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 1 year of veterinary technician experience (required)
  • Passion for animal care and genuine enthusiasm for the work
  • Strong communication skills, both with clients and team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Positive attitude and desire to grow professionally
  • Weekend and evening availability
