Registered Veterinary Technician
Looking for a practice that values your clinical intuition? Woodlawn Veterinary Hospital wants an experienced RVT who anticipates needs, not just follows orders.

Scheduled part-time weekdays and weekends (20–25 hours/week); no on-call duty mentioned
About the Role
This is a part-time opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician who thrives in a collaborative environment where your technical expertise and initiative are genuinely valued. At Woodlawn Veterinary Hospital, the DVM-RVT relationship is fundamental to delivering excellent patient care. You'll work weekdays and weekends in a role where you're expected to be proactive—reading the room, anticipating procedures, and facilitating smooth workflows for both the medical team and patients.
You won't be waiting for instructions. Instead, you'll prepare for surgeries before being asked, manage anesthesia with precision, and communicate confidently with clients about procedures and recovery protocols. This role suits someone who finds satisfaction in being two steps ahead.

- Prepare for procedures, treatments, and diagnostics in advance; see appointments through from start to finish
- Induce, maintain, and monitor anesthesia with precision while providing top-tier patient care and recovery support
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, record results in patient files, and communicate findings with veterinarians and owners
- Assist with dental radiographs, monitor during procedures, and perform routine cleanings (scaling and polishing)
- Provide compassionate nursing care with active attention to patient conditions and proactive communication with veterinarians
- Act as a trusted liaison between clients and veterinarians—starting appointments, obtaining histories, and educating clients on procedures and recommendations
Requirements
- Current RVT registration (mandatory)
- Technical proficiency in surgical assistance, patient handling and restraint, and laboratory sample collection
- Proficiency with veterinary software systems and in-house laboratory equipment (blood and urine analysers)
- Strong clinical intuition and initiative—ability to read situations and take proactive action
- Calm, empathetic approach to patient handling with focus on low-stress techniques
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience (starting at $24.00/hour)
- Consistent part-time hours (20–25 hours/week)
- Internal staff discounts including uniform allowance
