About the Role

Alta Vista Animal Hospital is recruiting a full-time, permanent Board-eligible or Board-certified Veterinary Dermatologist to expand its specialty medicine department in Ottawa, Ontario. This position offers the opportunity to practise alongside five additional specialists (Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Oncology, and Ophthalmology) within a busy, 24-hour multidisciplinary facility that serves a substantial referral network.

You'll have access to exceptional diagnostic infrastructure, including a 64-slice CT scanner, 0.25T MRI, fluoroscopy, advanced ultrasound, and digital radiography. The practice welcomes over 300 referring veterinarians, ensuring a diverse and challenging caseload. Work-life balance is prioritized through flexible scheduling, and you'll have dedicated time to mentor interns and veterinary technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid DVM degree or equivalent credential enabling licensure in Canada
  • Board-certified or Board-eligible in Dermatology (ACVD)
  • Current Ontario veterinary licence or eligibility to obtain one through the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
  • Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills with expertise in ventilation
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities combined with genuine team collaboration mindset
  • Excellent client communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a busy caseload
  • Commitment to mentoring and supporting junior veterinarians and technical staff
