You'll work alongside internists, critical care specialists, surgeons, radiologists, and ophthalmologists in a fully equipped facility that moved to its state-of-the-art home in 2016. This is an opportunity to deliver high-quality neurological care while collaborating with a collegial, supportive team that genuinely values your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and deliver high-quality care for a wide range of neurological cases, prioritizing optimal patient outcomes
  • Serve as primary contact for clients, communicating clearly about their pet's progress, treatment plans, and next steps with empathy and professionalism
  • Collaborate actively with specialty services, technicians, and fellow veterinary associates in a team-based medicine model
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely medical records to support continuity of care and best practices
  • Monitor and coordinate appointment schedules with the specialty service administrator; confirm appointments, adjust for cancellations, and prioritize urgent cases
  • Engage with the referring veterinary community on a quarterly basis to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and provide updates on services and patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized Neurology residency program
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Veterinary Neurology (ACVIM or ECVN)
  • DVM (or equivalent) with eligibility for licensure in British Columbia
  • Strong commitment to exceptional client service and genuine compassion for pets and families
  • Skilled in mentoring junior veterinary professionals and contributing to a positive, growth-oriented team culture

Benefits

  • Salary: $180,000–$250,000 CAD plus additional rewards
  • RRSP 5% Employer Group Match Program
  • VCA Canada RRSP Student Loan Program
  • Medical Library access: 2,000+ journals, 600+ textbooks, research resources
  • Continuing education benefits
  • Relocation and immigration support
  • Licensing, membership dues, and conference fees covered
  • Referral bonus rewards
  • Professional liability insurance coverage
  • Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
  • Paid wellness days
  • Paid sick days
  • Paid vacation time
  • Employee assistance program
  • E-tools for meditation, sleep, exercise, and focus
  • Career and leadership opportunities (medical director, medical advisory board, special projects)
  • Wellness initiatives and resources
  • Community involvement opportunities through VCA Canada initiatives
