Veterinary Technician Practicum
Launch your RVT career with real-world experience at a welcoming Sherwood Park clinic. NVA's practicum program pairs you with experienced vets and techs across 2–8 weeks, plus travel stipend support.
About the Role
Ready to bridge the gap between classroom and clinic? Sherwood Veterinary Clinic welcomes final-year veterinary technician students into NVA Canada's VT Practicum Program—a structured opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, dynamic setting. You'll work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs, building clinical competency in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology, and more.
The practicum runs from two to eight weeks, flexible enough to fit your schedule and career trajectory. If you're enrolled in an accredited Canadian VT program and completing your final practicum in your graduating year, you'll receive a travel stipend to ease the financial burden of relocation, letting you focus entirely on learning and skill development. Beyond technical proficiency, you'll sharpen your communication with medical teams and clients—essential tools for a thriving RVT career.
