Veterinary Technician Practicum
Final-year VT students: gain real-world experience at a supportive clinic while earning a travel stipend. Learn from experienced RVTs and DVMs in a dynamic environment.
About the Role
NVA Canada's VT Practicum Program is designed for final-year veterinary technician students ready to bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice. You'll work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs at Southfort Veterinary Clinic, developing hands-on skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, and radiology. Beyond technical competencies, you'll refine your communication abilities with medical teams and clients—skills that are just as critical to your success as an RVT.
Practicums are flexible, ranging from two to eight weeks, so you can choose timing that fits your final-year schedule and career goals. As an eligible student enrolled in an accredited Canadian VT program, you'll receive a stipend to help offset travel expenses, allowing you to focus on learning rather than financial stress. You'll be joining a practice committed to diversity and inclusion, where everyone is valued and supported in reaching their full potential.
