About the Role

Prairie Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate Veterinarian ready to make an impact on animal health and wellness. You'll work in a collaborative setting where your clinical expertise is valued and your ideas contribute to patient outcomes. You'll conduct thorough animal examinations, develop tailored treatment plans, perform surgical procedures and vaccinations, and leverage your laboratory experience to support accurate diagnosis. Beyond clinical work, you'll educate pet owners on preventive care and nutrition, maintain meticulous medical records, and stay current with advances in veterinary medicine through ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough examinations to accurately diagnose animal health conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
• Perform surgical procedures, vaccinations, and other medical interventions as required
• Conduct diagnostic testing and interpret results, utilizing laboratory experience
• Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and overall health management
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with veterinary standards
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
• Must hold a valid veterinary license to practice in Manitoba
• Pass NAVLE or be registered for/have passed PSA and/or be registered for CPE
• In good standing with applicable veterinary associations
• Laboratory experience is considered a strong asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and professional approach toward animals and their owners
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Commitment to ethical veterinary practices and ongoing professional growth
