About the Role
North Shore Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to deliver compassionate companion animal care in a collegial, professionally stimulating practice. You'll work in a supportive environment where relationship-building with pet parents and team members is central to patient outcomes. This position offers exposure to soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and nutritional counselling in a modern facility backed by extensive in-house educational resources. Team-based medicine is the foundation here; you'll collaborate with a supportive clinical team and help mentor veterinary students embarking on their DVM journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary companion animal veterinary care, including soft tissue surgical procedures
- Develop and deliver preventative care plans tailored to individual patients
- Offer evidence-based nutritional guidance to clients
- Foster a team-based approach to medicine, working collaboratively with RVTs and support staff
- Build strong relationships with pet parents to enhance compliance and outcomes
- Mentor and coach veterinary students and junior team members
- Engage in continuing education and professional networking activities
Requirements
- Valid veterinarian licence to practise in Canada (DVM/equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in soft tissue surgical procedures, preventative care, and nutritional counselling
- Commitment to collaborative, team-based medicine practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, clients, and community members
- Passion for mentoring and supporting junior veterinarians and students
- Willingness to pursue professional development through conferences and continuing education
- Genuine enthusiasm for companion animal medicine
