Join Juno's founding team in Toronto and help shape the future of vet medicine. This isn't just a job—it's a chance to practice gold-standard care, lead by example, and be part of something new from the ground up.

About the Role

Juno Veterinary is building something intentional in Toronto—a practice centred on the Juno Standard of Care, where every team member (including you) has what they need to thrive. As an Associate Veterinarian, you'll be a clinic captain: responsible for your own patient roster, mentoring less experienced team members, and ensuring clinical excellence across medicine, surgery, and dentistry. This is hands-on practice where your voice matters and your growth is actively supported.

You'll manage your own appointments and procedures while supporting colleagues when they're unavailable, participate actively in team meetings to drive medical quality, and help build a clinic culture where collaboration isn't just an idea—it's how things actually work. Whether you're diagnosing and treating complex cases, performing surgical procedures, or communicating thoughtfully with pet owners, you'll be practicing at the top of your license. This is a full-time role based at the King West clinic, reporting to the National Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own patient caseload: appointments, procedures, lab interpretation, prescribing, and follow-up care
  • Provide clinical coverage for colleague patients when the primary veterinarian is unavailable
  • Perform surgical procedures including routine and advanced spays/neuters, mass removals, hernia repair, cystotomy, laceration repair, and ophthalmic surgery
  • Provide dental care including charting, radiograph reading, gingival flaps, extractions, and closure
  • Triage and stabilize urgent and emergent cases before referral
  • Mentor and coach support staff and less experienced veterinarians
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to improving medical quality protocols
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication and thorough, efficient care
  • Maintain timely charting and task completion
  • Support team members with non-veterinary tasks when needed and able
  • Seek consultation and collaborate with other veterinarians on challenging cases
  • Engage with professional development opportunities and expand your service offerings through continuing education

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience
  • Valid DVM licence in Ontario
  • Medical competence: ability to diagnose and treat infectious, inflammatory, metabolic, degenerative, physiologic, and environmental disease
  • Surgical competence in feline and canine spays/neuters (including mature and large breed), cryptorchid neuter, umbilical hernia repair, mass removals, cystotomy, laceration repair, eyelid surgery, enucleation, and gastropexy (ideally)
  • Dental competence in charting, radiograph reading, gingival flaps, burring, sectioning, extractions, and closure
  • Comfort with POCUS and abdominal ultrasound (a plus)
  • Clear, compassionate communication skills with team and clients
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize scheduled appointments, walk-ins, and urgent cases
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to evolving processes
  • Self-awareness regarding strengths and weaknesses; openness to feedback
  • Collaborative approach; willingness to work as part of a team across multiple clinics
  • Comfort with change and continuous improvement
  • Ability to give and receive feedback constructively

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $130,000–$170,000 per year (range reflects experience and skill development; progression discussed throughout interview process)
  • Performance bonus opportunity starting at 10% of base salary
  • Potential to earn above the stated range based on exceptional experience and positive impact within the organization
